v0.6.x

Release period: 7–9 September 2026

Current release: v0.6.8

Summary

Factor Fifty v0.6.x introduces redesigned AWS and Azure canvases, refreshed financial and operational experiences, and more reliable infrastructure imports and deployments.

Redesigned cloud canvases

  • Structured resource panels — resources are organised into clearer, categorised containers that can be repositioned within the Canvas.
  • Nested infrastructure — related networking, Kubernetes, and data resources are grouped into collapsible hierarchies.
  • Focused dependency paths — selecting a resource highlights the dependencies relevant to that resource.
  • Docked Canvas tools — catalogue, inspection, and management tools remain accessible without obscuring the working area.
  • Improved application groups — application-group membership and supported locked properties can be managed directly from the Canvas.
  • Refined Azure layout — resources are grouped by resource group, with nested virtual networks, subnets, servers, and databases presented more compactly.
  • Consistent AWS experience — the AWS Canvas received the same visual structure while retaining provider-specific behaviour.

Refreshed platform experience

  • Customer and project navigation — customer, project, and environment pages have clearer structure and more consistent actions.
  • Financial views — executive, dashboard, rightsizing, and savings screens received visual and usability improvements.
  • Security and monitoring — refreshed layouts make findings, posture, health events, and monitoring status easier to review.
  • Module catalogue — browsing, inspecting, and configuring modules is clearer, including improved field ordering.
  • Onboarding workflows — Azure credentials, subscription onboarding, environment management, and data-run status now provide clearer progress and feedback.

Import and deployment reliability

  • Expanded managed-cluster imports — existing managed Kubernetes environments can be reconstructed more completely.
  • Preserved network selections — explicit subnet choices are retained during infrastructure adoption.
  • Duplicate import prevention — Factor Fifty selects the strongest inventory match for each import target and normalises older duplicate metadata.
  • Stable cross-layer references — generated deployments now resolve persisted resource references consistently between deployment layers.
  • Improved validation coverage — additional checks catch invalid import targets and dependency references before deployment.
  • Expanded resource catalogue — additional Azure messaging resources and access-role combinations are supported.

Fixes

The v0.6.x series also includes targeted fixes for Canvas rendering, resource imports, generated configuration, dependency references, onboarding workflows, and deployment reliability.
